Senile plaques (SPs)

Non cleared amyloid beta protein

New research suggests that subtle differences in thinking and memory may occur before or after the formation of detectable amyloid plaques in the brain.

On the surface of the neruon is a large protein called APP,normally APP is sectioned by enzymes on the surfaces of the neuron and it frees a protein called Amyloid Beta, the Amyloid Beta then be cleaned in the body,in the case of AD,there is an imbalance, the Amyloid Beta is nolonger regulated and is found in too grate quantity, the proteins assembled to form into soluble fibrils and create senile plaques.
